Meet the Loud and proud team of Grassroot!
Mayfereen is one of the of the founding members of the Grassroot. She has completed the Human Rights and Leadership study from Colombia University. She has received scholarships from Million Kisses Foundation, USA and FAO, Italy for documentation of the Khasi folklore and Herbal medicine practices respectively.
She is passionate about the work that she does and is especially passionate towards working on Indigenous issues with Indigenous people.
Kong Arzenia, our Administrator has been working with us since 2017.
Her journey towards the social sector started with the aim to achieve emotional human connection rather than financial status.
Even though she works full time with us, she believes that motherhood is and always be her first job!
Salome is one of our oldest and dearest employees, with a record of five years in Grassroot. She is our strongest field worker, hence earning the title of Team Leader.
She loves being involved with communities and is quick to make herself feel at home in any of our project areas she placed in.
Our Programme Officer, Bah Chen completed his MSW with Community Development as his specialization from Assam Don Bosco University. One of his biggest achievements is being awarded a project titled Inclusive Football for Gender and Peace by Katradi and U.S. Consulate General, Kolkata.
He is very passionate towards working with the youth and indigenous communities in rural areas.
Memorial (AKA Memo) joined Grassroot in 2018 because she founded that her objectives of working is Community Intervention aligned with that of the organisation.
She got her calling into the social space when project area and was introduced to the harsh reality that street children face everyday
Prior to Grassroot, Lynti worked as an Associate Programme Manager for Center for Microfinance & Livelihood (CML), a TATA trust initiatve, focused on Skills and Enterprise promotion.
She is currently under the fellowship program in Grassroot and is passionate about working in and empowering the rural sector.
Meba is our youngest employee!
Working in an NGO was one of the things in her bucket list. She loves going to the filed and interacting with new people.
