Youth in Civic Spaces
Grassroot, in partnership with Amyaa, has launched a collaborative initiative that selects nine young leaders from Meghalaya and Manipur to become peace builders and conflict resolution specialists in their communities. The program equips participants with critical thinking skills and contextual understanding of cultural, historical, and social factors to develop innovative solutions to local challenges.
Through comprehensive capacity building, interviews, and advocacy planning, fellows are implementing their plans in their respective areas. Grassroot focuses on empowering youth in Meghalaya and Manipur to participate in community development beyond formal education, connecting them with their cultural heritage.
The leadership programs under this initiative help young people assess themselves, set personal and professional goals, and develop strong advocacy and communication skills. This project aims to strengthen the role of youth as changemakers and active contributors to sustainable peace and inclusive growth in their regions.
