In the month of April 2021, the second wave of Covid-19 struck the state which led to unfortunate circumstances, whereby, many precious lives succumbed to the virus leaving their loved ones behind. One of the many challenges that the people in Meghalaya faced is congestion and limited space in their respective houses. Hence, the virus spread like wildfire. Moreover, not everyone can afford to be isolated at institutional quarantine centers. Therefore, Grassroot with the support of World Bank-IMF India Staff Club, Helping Hands India, National Health Mission Meghalaya, as well as local partners and well wishers extended support to the communities by setting up four isolation centers in East Khasi Hills District which the community can utilize and accommodate people who are genuinely in need of it.
